Awareness

September 18, 20232 min read

I wrote Awareness about finding a connection to myself.

About finding a way to listen to myself and find a home within myself.

A place from which I can lead myself and find answers to my questions.

A place to rest, feel heard and held.

Many have interpreted this song as a love song, and I can understand that, even though it was never my intention.

To me Awareness is about the sense I get sometimes when I'm in meditation or in flow, and I'm embracing the life within and beyond.

It's about my relationship with myself and life itself.

Riding the waves on the ocean of nothingness
- Linnea Sigurdson

Awareness
Written by Linnea Sigurdson

Calling the field and the wheel of forevermore

Open the mouth and let your body roar
Letting it in

Riding the waves on the ocean of nothingness
With eyes wide open, I'm only here to witness
Letting it in

I’m here, come and rip through me
Let me feel you in every inch of my being
I’m giving in. I’m surrendering the struggle
of keeping things apart

Flesh and bones and the cells, and the water of me
It's when you're here that I can feel it breathe
When I'm with you

Sliding through the vastness of eternity
is not as frightening as I once thought it would be
When I'm with you

I’m here, come and rip through me
Let me feel you in every inch of my being
I’m giving in. I’m surrendering the struggle
of keeping things apart

With you, I know all of me is welcome
With you, I know all of us are welcome
Cause we are all one

I’m here, come and rip through me
Let me feel you in every inch of my being
This is freedom. I can hear the walls are falling
And there's nothing left to do

I have finally gotten to the place of rest now
I have finally figured out how to live my life now
Through the sensations of you
